Do you still believe in the doctrines of the Watchtower
by SAHARA inman, i did it again in messing up my post.
anyway, after reading many exjw responses to questions from posters, i see there is a wide variety of opinions on faith and religion in general such as still believing that there is a god to no belief in god at all.
for those of you who still believe that there is a god, i'd like to know whether or not you still believe in the doctrines of the watchtower, but you just don't believe that it is gods "only true religion"?.

You may have forgotten about me but here's my update
by doublelife init's been a while since i've posted because i've been so busy looking for a full-time job so that i could leave my husband.
well, i've finally got one today.
actually, it's the same job i've had for about a year but someone else just put in their notice to quit so my manager finally gave me full-time status.

Not Sure What To Do....HELP!!!!!
by lostinnj83 inhello..i have been lurking for quite some time and am finally ready to make my first post!.
i was raised a witness and am still "active" in the congregation and am married to husband who is also and have been having some doubts for some time and voiced some of them to my husband a few months back and he immediatly called the elders who provided a sheparding call.
doubts were mainly on the harshness of the disfellowshipping and the blood issue.

How did you find the strength to leave?
by SAHARA into all of you exjws, i'm sure you've been asked this question one way or the other many times and i'm sure the answer is different for many of you, i'd like to know directly from you never having a chance to hear or read many exjw's answers to this.
knowing that you would be cut off from your family and friends and other consequences for your decision to leave, how did you ever get the strength to do it?
i mean really, i find it fascinating to know that there are so many of you who were at one time very devout, if not at the very least loyal to one of the most successful mind-contol organizations ever who believed all if not most of what the society taught and still you found the courage to risk everything once you accepted that it isn't what it claims to be.

I was a quick fade... I spent 3 months far away from people that knew me. I didn't go to any meedings or read any JW literature I had no TV or internet... I just worked and "thought". I gave myself time to think... Next big step was reading "COC" and then Steven Hansen's books.... It took about 2 years to feel 100% free! the emotional strain and the shunning from friends and family is hard! now... today i ran into a JW that knew me and she looked scared and I found it funny!

anyone that has any medical problem has the HIPAA right to make sure NO ONE knows anything about there "heath problem" if you alow the elders to know then it is no longer a Hipaa problem... but every JW has the right of HIPAA in the USE

ExJWs & "Adult" Subjects On The Forum
by minimus ini think we have a tendency to get ourselves involved in subjects that might be "r" or worse rated because we couldn't as a jehovah's witness.. any talk or discussion of something considered "wrong" would get you into trouble.. many of us who were brought up in the religion never had any real "normal fun" growing up.
we couldn't associate with "worldly" people and even jws were considered "bad association" if they didn't fit the congregation's ideals.
we couldn't tell an off colored joke.
